بافت تاریخی سن پترزبورگ
شهر سن پترزبورگ که برخی از آن به عنوان پایتخت فرهنگی روسیه نیز یاد می‌شود، با وجود حوادث تاریخی دشوار مانند محاصره‌ای طولانی مدت در جنگ جهانی دوم، توانست میراث تاریخی گذشته روسیه را همچنان پایدار نگه دارد. معماری ساختمان‌های باشکوه سن پترزبورگ مهمترین جاذبه این شهر زیبا و تاثیرگذار روسیه و اروپا است.
در سال ۱۹۹۱ میلادی، مرکز شهر تاریخی سن پترزبورگ که بافت سنتی و تاریخی این شهر نیز تلقی می‌شود به همراه مجموعه‌ای از یادمان‌های تاریخی در لیست میراث معنوی جهان در یونسکو به ثبت رسید.
مرکز تاریخی شهر سن پترزبورگ شامل مجموعه‌ای از ساختمان‌های مشهور و ماندگار است که نگاهی گذرا به برجسته‌ترین آنها داریم:
کاخ پترهوف
کاخ پترهوف یا پتروف (Peterhof Palace) مجموعه‌ای از باغ‌ها و کاخ‌هایی است که در منطقه پتروگوف سن پترزبورگ قرار دارد. این کاخ توسط پتر کبیر تزار روسیه در پاسخ به کاخ ورسای پادشاه فرانسه ساخته شد. این مجموعه در طول تغیربا ۵۰ سال به تدریج توسعه پیدا کرد و در سال ۱۷۵۶ میلادی، به اندازه کنونی خود رسید.
کلیسای ناجی در خون
کلیسای ناجی در خون (Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood) یکی از نمادهای شهر سن پترزبورگ روسیه است. این کلیسا توسط خاندان سلطنتی روسیه، در بین سال‌های ۱۸۸۳ و ۱۹۰۷ ساخته شد. این کلیسا به یاد الکساندر دوم از تزارهای روسیه به دست فرزندش الکساندر سوم ساخته شد.
قلعه پیتر و پال
قلعه پیتر و پال (Peter and Paul Fortress)، ارگ اصلی و تاریخی شهر سن پترزبورگ است که توسط پتر کبیر بنیانگذار شهر سن پترزبورگ در سال ۱۷۰۳ پایه‌گذاری شد. این قلعه که تکمیل آن تا سال ۱۷۴۰ به طول کشید و دژی به شکل ستاره است، تا سال ۱۹۲۰ به عنوان زندان و محل بازجویی دولت بلشویک استفاده می‌شد.
کلیسای جامع سنت ایزاک
کلیسای جامع سنت ایزاک (Saint Isaac’s Cathedral) اکنون به عنوان موزه در شهر سن پترزبورگ استفاده می‌شود. این کلیسا به یادبود ایزاک مقدس، قدیس محافظ پتر کبیر تزار بنیانگذار این شهر است.
